Profile
Carey Hobbs started out in the fiber
industry over 40 years ago and was the first to work with
synthetic fibers. He
is known industry wide for developing new processes and for
his companies continued innovation using different fibers.
As a small business owner and entrepreneur he has
earned national recognition and statewide awards, and as a
concerned citizen he has served on the Texas Tech Board of
Regents and as the governor appointee to the Texas Higher
Education Coordinating Board. Carey has also served his local
community through roles on various bank, hospital, and church
boards. Professionally, Carey has been on the board for the
National Association of Non-woven Fabrics Industry and a
member of the US Department of Commerce Industry Sector for
Trade Policy Matter for Textiles and Apparel.

Carry created Hobbs Bonded Fibers in
1962. He has the longest continuous tenure as COO in the
industry.
